Far From Ordinary:
A Series of Dreamscapes Made with Very Precise Slices

By Emily Andrews
Dennis Tourbin Members Gallery at NAC
Saturday 8 August 7PM

Local multimedia artist, Emily Andrews will be showcasing her most recent exhibition, Far From Ordinary at Niagara Artists Centre in St. Catharines on Saturday, August 8, 2015. Emily Andrews is a Niagara Falls based visual artist, actress, and musician who has been involved in various artistic projects in the community over the past six years. A graduate of Brock University with a BA in visual arts, Andrews was one of the artists in residence chosen by the Ontario Trillium Foundation in 2012 and was last year’s recipient of the Allister Young Arts & Culture Endowment Fund.

Far From Ordinary: A Series of Dreamscapes Made with Very Precise Slices, is the second solo exhibition for Andrews and includes a collection of surrealistic scenes in the form of hand-cut photo collages.  These intricately crafted pieces explore a whole new level of phantasmagoria that balances on the line of reality and imagination.  Far From Ordinary will be on display at the Niagara Artists Centre from 8 August to 21 August. The opening reception will be on Saturday 8 August at Niagara Artists Centre (354 St. Paul Street, St. Catharines), beginning at 7pm. Local musicians, Ethereal Wildlife, Thunderclap!, and Joel van Vliet will provide live entertainment.
