Jesi Jordan Media Artist Spotlight / Q+A

25 August 2022 | 9:00 pm

$15.00

The Mighty Niagara Film Fest presents the 2022 Media Artist Spotlight on the work of Jesi Jordan, featuring a program of animated video and short documentaries made throughout the artist’s travels abroad.

Inspired by a nomadic lifestyle, Jesi’s animated short films and music videos are a fever-dream travelog. Her animations are diaries of her most traversed landscape: that of her own vivid imagination.

The short documentaries capture fascinating encounters with people while roaming the streets of Latin America. Filmed the very same day she meets them and using an iPod touch, the films become immensely natural portraits of the incredibly interesting, iconic, and historically important characters she meets along the way.

Q+A Event! Jesi Jordan joins us in conversation with MNFF2021 Artist Spotlight animator Gustavo Cerquera following the screening.

 Program includes:

  • “Justice” music video for Jennifer Castle 2:12
  • “Too Old To Die Young” music video for Timber Timbre 4:37
  • “Blossom” 10:46
  • “El Agua” 3:57
  • “Cráneo” 6:22
  • “Aida” 5:02
  • “Mi Linda Havana” 9:42
  • “Farah” 9:51

Event runs 66 min/ 46 min film program + 20 min artist Q+A
