The late David Bierk is an internationally renowned painter. The work on auction was once in the collection of the Art Gallery of Ontario and part of its art rental program. It was purchased by Nick at fundraiser for the Joseph Brandt Memorial Hospital. David was well-connected to NAC being one of a group of Regionalist painters that included Tobey C. Anderson, Dave Gordon, and Dennis Tourbin. Bierk rose to fame in the 1980s and 90s his work is widely collected in both private and public collections across North America including the National Gallery of Canada.
