Some of my friends eating ice cream

Some of My Friends Eating Ice Cream is an ongoing portrait series of women indulging in piled-high ice cream cones. Depicted on a typical, humid summer day in Southern Ontario, friends of the artist had one instruction: eat the ice cream. Naturally, the subjects felt compelled to devour at an uncomfortably rapid pace. Tenderness, a trait typically assumed of women, is quickly discarded for the desire to consume. Through a voyeuristic lens, the photographer captures a break of composure, a brief moment of pleasure in its rawest form.
