DRONE DAY / Sat 27 May 2017

Saturday 27 May

For too long the drone has been overshadowed by the tyrants of melody & rhythm.

We call upon all drones to come together annually to form a massive drone.

Spencer Burton + Marine Dreams / Sun 27 Nov 8PM

IndoorShoes Presents
Spencer Burton and Marine Dreams at NAC
Sunday 27 November 8PM

Tickets available through Ticketfly

SPENCER BURTON | Niagara, ON
www.facebook.com/spencerburtonmusic

“Spanning a musical life with hardcore beginnings (Attack In Black), to the somber strings of his acoustic guitar in the realm of country-folk (Grey Kingdom) and collaborative years of writing and performing live in City & Colour, Spencer Burton is a mainstay musical virtuoso. Co-produced by his longtime friend and collaborator, Dan Romano, Don’t Let The World See Your Love pulls from the southern sounds of folk and country of yore, like a tired old soul’s night at the Opry with more contemporary melodic musings.”

ROOFTOP SHOW TWO
Friday 9 September / Doors 8PM / Show 9PM
B-17 / Your 33 Black Angels / Dyr Faser

B-17 (Toronto, ON)
In an age when the Internet is decimating live subculture and musicianship, Brown, Richard Gibson (vocals, guitar), Nick Kervin (drums) and Clint Rogerson (vocals, bass) are an increasingly rare breed of rocker, known for their smoking live showmanship and ability to truly rip, expressing with clarity in the psych rock lexicon.

Your 33 Black Angels (Brooklyn, NY)
Since 2003, audiences have savored the flavor of these dandy-ass, candy-ass harmonic wizards.

Dyr Faser (Brooklyn, NY)
Fascinating fusion of electronics (synths and drum machine), minimalistic guitar lines and echoed basement vocals woven around a simple, repetitive but highly addictive melody that creeps slowly under your skin and into your veins. Once hooked you want it to last forever. Try it on repeat and get lost…

We open the doors downstairs at 7PM on Saturday 25 June, and then move the affair top floor before 9PM.

A wonderful summer evening is in store.

You are also welcome to consider this the ideal opportunity to introduce your friends to NAC and beg, bribe, hound, pester, and badger them into becoming a member. Yes we take money in all its many forms: cash, interac, credit cards, Canadian Tire money, and gold bullion.

Mike James
…Born Michael James Piccolo in Sister’s Hospital Buffalo NY July 23 1951 at 7:18AM.

I’ve been involved with music since I can remember. Both my parents and older sister played classical music on varies instruments. I started on piano at 5, then made the drastic mistake of playing violin in the 4th and 5th grade orchastras. That’s when I started drumming. I played my first pro gig as a drummer at age 13. The band was The Misfits and the four of us split 25 dollars. I stayed with the band a couple years then moved on to The New Breed. I was 15, the next youngest member was 19, I had to pencil in my moustache, when we played bars… I moved to California in the late 60s, came back and started up a new group called Talas. I played drums for them for 1 year. Then I toured the “states” with Jamie King Colton for a year, came back to Buffalo and put together Cock Robin. CR had a record deal with Amherst Records of NY. I played with CR from 73′ til 77, then I moved to Nashville. There I worked with RCA recording artist Chip Hawkes, famous from a British invasion group, The Tremelos.

I stayed in Nashville until I did a Canadian tour and met my present wife. We’ve been together 30 years, I never moved back to Nashville:)

I’m writing presently and performing where and when I can. A new young talent from the Niagara region, Isabella Milano, has recorded my song, “My Time.” We don’t have a release date, but it is being submitted to Disney. This young lady is a star. I have a new song I’m recording myself called “When It Rains.” We’ve had a lot of positive response on the demo, and promises to add, is quality is there.

I’m very much looking forward to performing my music for you this June 18th. Thank you so much for having me.

Your local neighbour-hood songwriter,

Mike James

SIMPLY SAUCER
“ Simply Saucer are a divine mix of early Pink Floyd (with Syd Barrett still mercifully intact) and The Velvet Underground (when Andy Warhol was at the helm and urging them towards the Exploding Plastic Inevitable). They are all this and more; a Suicide with a lust for life; Silver Apples that are running with electronic juice! Sheer, ecstatic, underground bliss.”
— Edwin Pouncey, New Musical Express (London)

TV FREAKS
