Lillian Allen is a professor of creative writing at Ontario College of Art and Design University (OCAD). Two time JUNO Award winner and trailblazer in the field of spoken word and dub poetry, Allen artistically explores the aesthetics of old and new sounds in music to create her distinctive leading edge brand of Canadian reggae with new world sounds in her poetry recordings, with her powerful reggae dub poetry/spoken word recordings including her latest single Woken & Unbroken (2018), album ANXIETY (2012), her groundbreaking first solo Juno award winning album, Revolutionary Tea Party, a Ms. Magazine Landmark Album, followed by another Juno winner, Conditions Critical. Her third album, Freedom & Dance and her recording for children and young people, Nothing But a Hero, were released to critical acclaim.

Kaie Kellough is a novelist, poet, and sound performer. His work emerges at a crossroads of social engagement and formal experiment. From western Canada, he lives in Montréal and maintains a strong relationship with the Caribbean, with roots in Guyana, South America.

His books include Magnetic Equator (poetry, McClelland and Stewart, 2019), and Dominoes at the Crossroads (short fiction, Véhicule, Fall 2019). His novel Accordéon was shortlisted for the Amazon/Walrus Foundation Fist Novel Award. Kaie’s work has been recognized by the Manitoba Book Awards, the League of Canadian Poets, and Carte Blanche Magazine.

Kaie’s vocal performance, recorded audio, and electronic narrative explore migration and the suspension of arrival. Since 2011 he has created mixed media compositions with saxophonist and synthesist Jason Sharp.

Kaie’s work has traveled internationally, notably to festivals in the UK, Australia, and southern Europe. He continues to craft new passages.

TZT are a Niagara based experimental sound poetry band and features exclamations by Gregory Betts, Benjamin Mikuska, Arnold “Frothing” McBay on guitar and loops, Benjamin Mikuska, Devon Fornelli on percussion, and Gary Barwin on sax and flute. With a haunting vibe that brings to mind jazz and early beat utterances, TZT flows and floods the stage with ambient sound.
