THE LODGER: A STORY OF THE LONDON FOG
UK, 1926. Director Alfred Hitchcock. 90 min. NR

There will be a brief intermission.

When a landlady (Marie Ault) and her husband (Arthur Chesney) take in a new lodger (Ivor Novello), they’re overjoyed: He’s quiet, humble and pays a month’s rent in advance. But his mysterious and suspicious behavior soon has them wondering if he’s the killer terrorizing local blond girls. Their daughter, Daisy (June), a cocky model, is far less concerned, her attraction obvious. Her police-detective boyfriend (Malcolm Keen), in a pique of jealousy, seeks to uncover the lodger’s true identity.

THE GALLERY PLAYERS OF NIAGARA
The Gallery Players of Niagara, which began presenting concerts in 1994 has become one of Niagara’s most prominent presenters of classical chamber music. Each season we present a vast array of chamber music, from Vivaldi to Brahms to folk-inspired music to improvised music for silent movies. We commission and perform new Canadian works, present baroque repertoire on period instruments, and cover all the standard chamber music repertoire in between!

The group performs in many of Niagara’s churches, the Rodman Hall Arts Centre in St. Catharines, the Niagara Artists Centre, and at the new FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre. The group has a core membership of approximately 15 regular performers, supplementing its ranks each season with invited guests. The core players also perform with the Niagara Symphony, Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, Toronto Symphony, and many other smaller arts organizations in the Golden Horseshoe.

Within our core group the Gallery Players serves as an umbrella for three smaller ensembles, the Eybler QuartetGlissandi, and the Niagara Winds.
