The Mighty Niagara Film Fest presents the 2023 Media Artist Spotlight screening and Q&A event with showcase of digital media works by Avery Mikolič-O’Rourke.

Avery Mikolič-O’Rourke is a multimedia artist employing various audiovisual and digital media to challenge our understanding of computer-based systems. With a focus on techno-surrealism, Mikolič-O’Rourke explores the interplay between human and machine consciousness, questioning the perception and impact of documentation and data on memory and identity. Their art delves into the phenomenological aspects of machines, drawing parallels between human experience and the virtual and machine realms, while highlighting the expressive potential of digital tools in defining the human condition.
