Missionary and Minister in Niagara: Reverend Robert Addison 1754-1829 is a short documentary spotlighting the life of Reverend Robert Addison, the pioneering Anglican minister who arrived in Upper Canada in 1792. Over 37 years, Addison’s ministry spanned a vast region, playing a key role in recording Indigenous, Black, and settler histories. The film brings to light Addison’s profound impact on early Ontario, capturing his involvement in baptisms, marriages, and funerals from Fort Erie to the Six Nations of the Grand River.

Barbara Worthy, an accomplished producer, writer, and director, lends her expertise to this project. With a rich history of creating original multimedia productions, historical documentaries, and collaborations with CBC Radio, Worthy is a driving force in preserving and sharing history. Her commitment to showcasing the stories that shape Niagara’s identity, in partnership with the Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum, shapes this captivating exploration of Reverend Robert Addison’s enduring legacy and its significance.
