This American-Canadian documentary film tells the story of daring French volcanologists Katia and Maurice Kraff. Intrepid scientists and lovers, the pair perished in a volcanic explosion in 1991 doing what had brought them together, unravelling the mysteries of volcanoes and capturing stunning images of nature’s explosive power. Assembling copious beautifully restored footage shot by Maurice Kraff, the film was lauded at Sundance and has gathered universal acclaim. It is narrated by filmmaker, actor, and author Miranda July.

“One of the most moving and memorable films of 2022” – San Francisco Chronicle

Wayfinder. Canada, 2022. Directed by Taylor A.A. Wallace. 4 min

Wayfinder tells the story of a young woman waiting in her car for an intriguing, mysterious meetup. After following an “X” marked on her map, she arrives at a remote location without cell service, and must wait for the meeting time. This slow burning, well-paced narrative calmly and deliberately reveals details about the meetup to construct a story before it even takes place.

Niagara scenery come together to frame the story and breathe a distinct feel into the visuals. A beat of comedy wraps up the story for a refreshing end. Wayfinder was written, produced, and edited completely in Niagara.

A short narrative film written and directed by Taylor A.A. Wallace and starring Adelaide Bliss. Production, editing, and score by Taylor A.A. Wallace.
