Rita & the Daydreamers formed organically, inspired by research that rang true for lead singer Rita Visser: the idea that in this busy world, we don’t make enough time to daydream, thus hindering us from being creative and making more positive choices.
Rita’s soulful, powerfully raw vocals, mixed with her tell-it-like-it-is lyrics and sense of humour, resonate deeply. Her down-to-earth demeanor embraces listeners, making them feel at home as if the songs were written for them. She leads an accomplished band that features a diverse roster of talented and experienced musicians playing violin, banjo, upright bass, drums, guitar and pedal steel who dreamily explore different genres and moods – weaving in and out, creating interesting dynamics and space between melodies.
Rita loves to entertain, and commands a room with her Candiana storytelling through song. Her favourite moments are all about sharing an authentic love of music with her bandmates on stage – a genuine energy and creativity that reflect a true band of dreamers.
